Q: Making a checkbox mandatory

Hi,

How can I make a checkbox mandatory? The checkbox does not have the same required drop down list that a text box does.

Thanks,

Hi Tony,
There is not a “User Entered - Required” property for a checkbox because a checkbox is considered optional in forms. You can create a RadioButton exclusion group and make it Required. For instance, Yes/No in a RadioButton exclusion group can be set to required to make sure the user picks either Yes or No from the mutually exclusive group. But a checkbox does not function this way by default. I think you can override this behavior with JavaScript. Are you creating a Designer form or an adaptive form?

This is a form housed in Designer. I am currently looking up script to override but would be overjoyed if I could find it here :)

No pressure, lol.

Thanks for the quick reply and any further help you can provide - if I find something relative to custom code, I will circle back and post here.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone.
