Q: How do we invalidate the cache when pages are updated and published?

How do we invalidate the cache when pages are updated and published? I am publishing new pages from my Author instances, but my web server is still serving up the old pages.

When updated content is published, the cache needs to be flushed, or invalidated.

This is executed by the Dispatcher Flush agents. Flushing or invalidating the cache is controlled by the flush agent on the publish instance. We need to configure the agents on author and on publish.

The flush is configured in the Dispatcher.any file. We can tune it with the /invalidate property of the /cache property. When we invalidate all html files, the images and other files associated with these html files are also invalidated.
